Well, Hello Again!

I had planned to take a little break from crafting and blogging during May, but I didn't intend for it to be as long as it was!  I guess I just let life carry on, and I went along with it...and it was all good and fun, and if I do say so myself, very relaxing.  But after a few weeks I was itching to get back to crafting, so here I am again! :)

The problem with taking little breaks is that you might get the urge to craft again, but the "mojo" hasn't been told that vaction time is over...and that's what happened to me.  So I hopped over to The Shabby Tea Room  to see what this week's challenge is, and that's all it took to get me going.

Here's the inspiration photo for this week's "Sweet Summertime" challenge...pretty, isn't it? The challenge is to use aqua, pink and brown in a project. (But first I had to go make up a batch of brownies, because the ones in this photo slightly distracted me. Apparently my brain cells are resisting my orders a bit. LOL)

I actually came up with two cards for this challenge.  I'll post the second one later tonight...but for now, here's a little French-themed friendship card with a fun decorative edge.

I used an EK Success water pen dipped in Spun Sugar Distress Ink to color just the hearts on the cotton lace that I had tea-stained first...

The pink heart atop the bows started as a button. The tag was printed on my computer before being die-cut and inked...

Supplies:
Patterned Papers: BoBunny Back-to-Backs (pink dot); BasicGrey Out of Print collection (diamond print)
Edge Die: Tim Holtz      Oval Dies: Spellbinders Classic Ovals & Floral Ovals
Vintage Image: "Spring in Paris" collection from DigitalPapers on Etsy
Laces: TheFunkieJunkie on Zibbet (heart lace); LittleRedCottage on Etsy (crochet braid)
Pearls: Prima      Hug Snug seam binding      Miscellaneous: heart button, twine

I'll be back later with the second card made for this challenge. Until then, thanks for stopping by!
